Oh earns Rangers admirer as Celtic star branded 'strong presence' by Neil McCann ahead of Viaplay Cup final

Celtic new boy Hyeongyu Oh has been praised for bringing a different approach to Ange Postecoglou's side after making his full debut against Aberdeen.

The Parkhead outfit ran out 4-0 winners against the Dons thanks to a double from Reo Hatate and goals from Callum McGregor and Liel Abada. Ange Postecoglou's side maintained their nine-point lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership going into the Viaplay Cup final against Rangers on Sunday afternoon at Hampden.

Oh made his first start for Celtic and had a quiet introduction although he was involved in the build-up to the second goal. Despite his lack of goals Sportscene pundits Neil McCann and James McFadden heaped praise on the South Korean who they believe will offer Postecoglou a different dimension further up the park. The striker will give Postecoglou a headache for the cup final with Kyogo Furuhashi starting on the bench for Celtic for the visit of Barry Robson's men earlier today.

McCann said: "Oh has come in and he's such a strong presence. Before everybody starts getting excited I'm not comparing him to a Chris Sutton or a Hartson but it is his style. He backs in against defenders. He wants to feel them, touch them see where they are in order so he can use his body to bounce.

"What I love about him is he just wants the ball delivered into the box. The most important thing for me for the different type is that Ange has brought in. This backing in, he's always feeling for where the defender is."

While McFadden added: "What's key is he initiates the contact, he's not waiting for it. So when he does that he is taking control of the situation. If he backs in he can hold the defender where he is and either pop it off to someone on the side. He knows exactly where to play it and the weight of pass as well."
