Ofgem raises Energy Price Cap - but consumers protected for now

The cost of the Government’s energy support package was revealed on Thursday as industry watchdog Ofgem said average annual energy bills should have risen to an eye-watering £4,729 between January and March.

Amid growing fears of a hard winter for millions of households as the cost of living crisis bites, Chancellor Jeremy Hunt has guaranteed that typical bills will be capped at £2,500 until April.
