The senior official responsible for overseeing data across the Department of Homeland Security has resigned, publicly criticizing the Trump administration's immigration policies and what he described as a "war on immigrants," becoming one of the highest-ranking career officials to openly denounce the department's direction during Trump's second term.
Marc Rosenblum, who served as executive director of the Office of Homeland Security Statistics and deputy assistant secretary at DHS, announced his departure in a LinkedIn post over the weekend after serving under both the first Trump and Biden administrations. "I'm thrilled to end my relationship with the current administration," he wrote. "Between the war on immigrants, the war on feds, and the war on facts... I just need a change."
