Officers Checking in on Elderly Women Were Allegedly Told She Had Just Taken an Uber. Her Body Was Later Found in Her Grandson's Trunk

A welfare check on a 97-year-old woman in California led to the discovery of her body in the trunk of her grandson' car, after authorities were told she had just taken an Uber.

On Friday, neighbors on the 4200 block of American River Drive in Sacramento became concerned after not seeing the elderly woman for several days and contacted law enforcement for a welfare check, SF Gate reported.
