NEW DELHI: Chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday said that his government was offering good education to children for free and providing modern healthcare facilities to people in Delhi to lay a strong foundation for the country.
"These are not 'free ki revadi', but efforts to lay the foundation for making India the number one country in the world," the CM said.
Kejriwal's reaction came hours after Prime Minister Narendra Modi, without naming anyone, warned people against the culture of collecting votes and winning power by promising "free revadi" (a popular north Indian sweet distributed during festivals and a metaphor for freebies) and said this could be "very dangerous" for the development of the country.
