The Raiders were able to fill a lot of their biggest holes in free agency. They added a veteran quarterback in Gardner Minshew and addressed defensive tackle by signing the top player on the market, Christian Wilkins.
However, one spot that could still use some upgrading is on the offensive line. The Raiders lost starting right tackle Jermaine Eluemunor to the New York Giants and have not retained starting guard Greg Van Roten.
In a recent article by Pro Football Focus, they explained why the offensive line is such a big need for Las Vegas moving forward:
Regardless of their quarterback conundrum, the Raiders need reinforcements in the trenches. They currently have holes at right guard and right tackle, though they could theoretically reunite with 2023 starter Greg Van Roten. Christian Wilkins is a core piece at defensive tackle, but they will need more depth at that position, as well.
The Raiders have a lot of faith in Thayer Munford, who played well in spot duty last season. He could be an answer at guard or tackle this year, but his preferred spot is right tackle.
Could the Raiders use one of their top two picks on an offensive lineman? That seems pretty likely, especially with OL being a strength in this class. Don’t be surprised if they use the No. 13 pick to upgrade their offensive line.
