Offensive line for Raiders allowed 14 pressures in Week 4

The offensive line for the Raiders did not play well in Week 4. They allowed a former teammate to have a career day and essentially, win them the game. It was easily the worst the unit has played in the last several years. But that doesn’t mean it was all their fault.

In a recent article by Pro Football Focus, they ranked all 32 offensive lines after the first month of the season. The Raiders saw their ranking fall to No. 16, down three spots from last week.

That’s not surprising as the Raiders allowed six sacks to Khalil Mack. While those six sacks weren’t all due to the offensive line, they did have a very poor performance overall. Here is what the site about the group said about the unit coming out of the game against the Chargers.

After allowing just 18 pressures, including four sacks, in the first three weeks, the Raiders’ offensive line let up 14 pressures and five sacks against a Chargers defense led by Khalil Mack.

Jermaine Eluemunor had one of the worst days of his career as he just couldn’t hang with Mack. But it wasn’t all the offensive line’s fault. Aidan O’Connell did not do a good job of moving in the pocket and was responsible for a lot of the sacks that were taken.

The Raiders have a pretty decent pass-blocking offensive line. But they just had a really bad performance against the Chargers. Look for them to bounce back in a big way on Monday Night Football against the Packers.
