Odisha police officer accused of corruption gets compulsory retirement

BHUBANESWAR: The state government on Monday handed out compulsory retirement to additional superintendent of police (communication) Trinath Mishra, who was arrested by the state vigilance directorate on February 16 for allegedly possessing disproportionate assets to the tune of nearly Rs 9 crore.

“ASP Mishra is one of the senior officers given compulsory retirement by the government in tune with the policy of zero tolerance towards corruption and inefficiency. With this, the state government has so far given compulsory retirement to 152 officials on charges of corruption and inefficiency,” said a senior officer in the chief minister’s office.
