BHUBANESWAR: The state government is fully prepared for any exigency arising due to Covid cases in some parts of the country even though the state currently has zero hospitalization of coronavirus patients, the health authorities said after Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to chief ministers on the issue.
In a video conferencing with chief ministers, Modi said the challenge of the pandemic is not yet over and asked the states to continue implementing Covid-appropriate behaviours without spreading panic among people. The Prime Minister suggested RT-PCR testing of hospitalised patients and genome sequencing of confirmed cases for early detection of new variants, if any.
