Odisha govt asked to have creches for babies of women employees

BHUBANESWAR: The Odisha Human Rights Commission (OHRC) on Friday asked the state government to create creches for babies of women employees at workplace. This facility will be created in offices having more than 50 women employees.

The full bench of the rights panel headed by justice BK Patel has directed the chief secretary of Odisha and secretary of women and child development department for implementation of this order within next six months.

The commission passed this order on Friday after hearing a petition filed by five lawyers including Biswapriya Kanungo on October 9, 2019 regarding the provisions of creche facilities for the babies of women employees who are serving in various departments of government and human rights institutions.
