Odisha abolishes contractual recruitment system

BHUBANESWAR: Diwali has come early for all those who are aspiring for a government job in Odisha as chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday announced abolition of contractual recruitment system forever besides regularizing services of over 57,000 contractual employees.

Naveen, who will turn 77 on Sunday, addressed the people of the state following a meeting of the state cabinet that gave its nod to the decision, which is likely to have long-term socio-political consequences.
