Russia will introduce its ruble currency on the captured Ukraine region of Kherson from the start of May, state media has claimed.
Kherson was the first big city to be captured by Vladimir Putin ’s forces following the invasion started on February 24 and it remains in Russian hands despite local protests and counter-attacking from the Ukrainian military.
Now the deputy chairman of the region’s administration Kirill Stremousov has reportedly told the news agency RIA-Novosti that the ruble will be introduced during a transition taking four months.
