President Biden is set to call on former running mate Barack Obama and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to highlight his efforts in making health care more affordable and advocate for his re-election. The trio will come together for a virtual rally with activists on Saturday to mark the 14th anniversary of the Affordable Care Act, commonly known as Obamacare.
The event aims to underscore one of Biden's key achievements and strongest arguments for a second term, as per reports. Jen O’Malley Dillon, chair of Biden’s reelection campaign, emphasized the significance of the Affordable Care Act for both Obama and Pelosi, showcasing the impact of leaders championing for the people and achieving seemingly impossible goals.
As part of the commemoration, an Obamacare anniversary event will feature a digital ad campaign in crucial swing states where Biden plans to focus his campaign efforts, including Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, New Hampshire, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.
In his recent State of the Union address, Biden highlighted his success in reducing health care costs and criticized former President Donald Trump's attempts to repeal the Affordable Care Act during his tenure. Biden reaffirmed his commitment to protecting health care coverage for millions of Americans, particularly those with pre-existing conditions.
The president also mentioned specific legislative actions he has taken, such as capping prescription drug expenses for Medicare beneficiaries and implementing tax credits to lower health insurance premiums.
Furthermore, Biden is scheduled to participate in a high-profile fundraiser in New York City alongside former President Bill Clinton, hosted by Stephen Colbert, adding to his busy schedule of engagements with prominent political figures.
