New transport and hospitality options, including a purpose-built campsite, will be set up for Oasis fans attending the recently announced Knebworth shows.
The Britpop band, led by Liam and Noel Gallagher, will return to Knebworth Park more than 30 years after their initial gigs as part of their Oasis Live ’27 tour announced on Monday.
The 38-show tour will include four nights at the Hertfordshire park on September 11, 12, 18, and 19.
To manage crowds and ensure “the best possible fan experience”, fans are advised not to drive to Knebworth and instead opt for a number of specially set up transport and hospitality options including a direct rail service and purpose-built campsite village.
– Railway
A direct service by Great British Rail will run between Stevenage Station and London Kings Cross after all the Oasis Live ’27 Knebworth shows.
Running from 11.30pm until 01.30am the trains are capped at £10 exclusively for concert-goers.
The ticket is a one way option and fans must choose their own route to get to the concert. A stewarded, lit pedestrianised route will guide fans back after the show to Stevenage Station.
– Coach Return
A coach return route will also be available and operate from more than 120 locations across the UK.
Fans can choose from three coach ticket zones through Ticketmaster and select their pick-up point and seat. They will be dropped off a five-minute walk from the arena.
At the end of the concert, fans have one hour to board their return coach with food outlets, bars and toilets remaining open for coach travellers.
-Campsite Village
In another first for Knebworth, an independent purpose-built Campsite Village with its own dedicated car park and concert entrance will be set up to alleviate traffic congestion and queuing.
Camping will be available only for the Saturday September 11 and 19 shows.
Fans who are successful in purchasing a Saturday ticket will have the option to add a Campsite Village ticket which includes a campsite car parking, a pitch and direct walk-through access to the arena.
Late night entertainment in the Campsite Village will also be staged both on Friday and Saturday nights. The Campsite Village is priced at £60 per person.
– Reserved grandstand seat and hospitality
A grandstand will be constructed at the rear of the arena, with a front view of the stage, and reserved seats.
Accessed via stairs, toilets will be located immediately behind the grandstand, and a pedestrian bridge with steps will allow access to the Knebworth Gardens, where hospitality, food and drink will be available.
– Accessible Viewing
In front of the grandstand will be an accessible viewing platform – the largest ever constructed at Knebworth.
The platform will be accessed by ramps, with a direct front-facing view of the stage.
The band played two fan favourite concerts at the venue on August 10 and 11 1996, to an audience of more than 100,000 each night.
Oasis promoter Rob Ballantine said: “Oasis have challenged us to make Oasis Live ‘27 at Knebworth the best possible fan experience – this is our goal.
“Working with Great British Rail we have trains running from Stevenage direct to London Kings Cross after every show until 01.30am, with train tickets at £10. We will also have the largest coach service for any cultural event in the UK.
“Customers can avoid concert day travel altogether if they choose the campsite option for a Saturday show, arriving on Friday and enjoying the Campsite Village atmosphere, leaving on Sunday morning after the Saturday concert.
“We have created the largest accessible viewing platform for a Knebworth gig and, in another first, three grandstands at the rear of the arena will provide a reserved seat and access to hospitality in the Knebworth House Gardens.
“To help create the best possible experience, we are encouraging fans not to come by car, but to take advantage of the new options we have created for Oasis Live ‘27 at Knebworth.”
Supported by Richard Ashcroft on all dates, Oasis will also perform at Glasgow’s Celtic Park in May before heading to Manchester’s Etihad Stadium in June and Ireland’s Slane Castle on September 4 and 5.
The Manchester-formed band will also perform in Munich, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Paris, and Rome in Europe, and in Boston and Las Vegas in the US.
Fans must register before 4pm on Thursday for the chance to buy a ticket with prices fixed, ranging between £71.50 and £266.60.
