Chief Jeffrey Maddrey of the New York Police Department announced on Friday that the department will be reviewing security protocols following an incident where a man set himself on fire outside the courtroom where former President Donald Trump's hush money trial is being held.
Maddrey emphasized that the man did not breach any security protocols as the park where the incident occurred was open to the public. However, he stated, 'We're going to look at everything and reassess our security measures in collaboration with our federal partners given the significance of the situation.'
Law enforcement had already implemented a comprehensive and sophisticated security plan for the trial, as per previous statements from officials. The incident has prompted a reevaluation of security measures to ensure the safety and integrity of the proceedings.
