NEW YORK — A grand jury hearing evidence against former President Donald Trump is expected to break from proceedings for the upcoming holidays, a source told the New York Daily News on Wednesday — meaning a hotly-anticipated decision on whether to indict the former president is unlikely until late April.
The grand jury’s break coincides with the New York City school calendar and the Passover and Easter holidays.
The grand jury, which was impaneled in January, will return to court Thursday and on Monday and Wednesday next week to hear about other matters, three sources told The News.
One of the sources, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss confidential proceedings, said the group is not expected to meet between April 10 and April 24.
The timeline is fluid and subject to change. The panel can vote on whether to indict Trump in the “hush money” case whether or not they’re hearing about the case that day, say the sources.
