NY Sugar Prices Slip as India Projects a Bumper Sugar Crop

March NY world sugar #11 (SBH25) Wednesday closed down -0.11 (-0.55%), and March London ICE white sugar #5 (SWH25) closed up +12.50 (+2.35%).

Sugar prices Wednesday settled mixed, with London sugar posting a 1-1/2 week high. NY sugar prices came under pressure Wednesday after India projected a "bumper" sugar crop for the 2025/26 season that will allow it to boost sugar exports. However, fund short covering boosted London sugar futures on Wednesday, with Thursday the last trading day for the March London sugar contract.
