Firefighters at Natural Bridge State Resort Park likely won’t get much help from Mother Nature until Friday night. That’s according to Ed Ray, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Jackson.
“Winds expect to be 10 to 15 miles per hour gusts up to 20 to around 25, maybe relative humidities down between 15, 25% and with highs, of course, very warm temperatures afternoon being in the mid-80s.”
Ray said Friday morning and afternoon should be a little more humid in the Natural Bridge area, which would make the job of firefighters a little easier. Better still is the forecast for Friday night and Saturday morning.
“We will have some clouds moving in that should help and things like that. Our rain will hold off probably until Friday evening. Looks like a decently soaking rain. Friday night, probably looking at three quarters of an inch of rain.”
Ray said by Saturday afternoon, the Natural Bridge area could get an inch of rain.
