Dougie Neill has been appointed as general manager at The NWH Group.
This newly-created role sees him take on the overarching responsibility for all 10 NWH recycling depots, which are on target to turnover £55m collectively this year, streamlining operations and providing strategic guidance to ensure the business continues to meet its growth objectives.
Neill said: “The business has ambitious but attainable growth aspirations, and as we continue to deliver on our strategy, we must ensure customer satisfaction is at the heart of our operational delivery plan.
“At NWH we think national, act local, so as we continue to expand across the country, it’s vital to ensure we maintain our local approach to customer service and delivery.
“By empowering our teams at a local site level to ensure customers receive a consistent experience every time, we want our business to be renowned for being the best at what we do.”
Neill started with The NWH Group as a tipper driver 19 years ago, then wanted to learn how to drive every vehicle possible. During the last two decades, he has developed experience working throughout the business, moving up through the ranks as a transport co-ordinator, general manager of the construction services division, and latterly as head of sales.
Group chief executive Mark Williams said: “With his experience and track record within our business and industry, Dougie is ideally placed to deliver this critical role as he knows the business inside out.”
Serving the whole of Scotland and north east England from 10 sites, the second-generation family business provides waste management services to the industrial, commercial and construction industries.
Collecting waste with its fleet of trade refuse, skip, tipper, grab and walking floor articulated vehicles, it transports materials to its own recycling facilities, where they are transformed into products such as cardboard, paper, washed sands, biomass for energy and animal bedding.
