Nvidia RTX 5080 and RTX 5090 are reportedly set to have their designs finalised this month and their TDPs might be lower than some thought

Nvidia RTX 4090 and Jen-Hsun Huang.

Update: The translation of Benchlife's report we used for the original story came from Google Translate, which translated the Traditional Chinese writing to: "If all goes well, the GeForce RTX 5090/D and GeForce RTX 5080/D with the Blackwell GPU architecture are scheduled to officially launch in September." This, however, seems to be a mistranslation. According to Twitter user Zed__Wang, a correct translation should say that the 5080/D and 5090/D are scheduled to have their designs finalised in September.

This is more reasonable than the idea that the two GPUs are approaching launch. Having their designs finalised wouldn't mean they have to move straight onto shelves. Nvidia could even sit on the GPUs until next year, although we're still hopeful we'll see something about the 50-series before the end of this year. Fingers crossed.
