Egypt has released two nurses and a young man who filmed the dead body of a student who died in a grisly killing.
The three paid a fine of 70,000 Egyptian pounds each, the equivalent of just over £3,000 after they were jailed for leaking footage of Naira Ashraf's body.
Student Naira was stabbed multiple times in a vicious attack by jealous classmate Mohamed Adel on June 20.
Such was the brutality of the stabbing, the killing became infamous in Egypt, particularly as the court that sentenced murderer Adel to death asked for his execution to be broadcast live on TV.
Earlier reports said the three were also ordered to pay the equivalent of over £2,100 in fines and £820 in bail money.
While Adel's death sentence is currently under appeal - he admitted murdering Naira - footage then appeared to leak online showing the graphic stab wounds his victim was subjected to.
Naria's family were reportedly shocked at the release of the footage at a time when they were already attempting to come to terms with their loss.
They are now suing the hospital the nurses worked at.
Such was the ferocity of the murder, the court decided to make an example out of Adel and hoped that a live execution would deter others from attempting a similar feat.
Pleading guilty, Adel was still sentenced to death. The sentence had to go to Egypt’s 'Grand Mufti' Dr Shawki Allam for approval.
Judge Bahaeldin Al Merri said at Adel's sentencing: "The court declares that it could not find the capacity for mercy for someone who was not merciful himself.
"Perhaps your death will do more good as an example for others than allowing you to live."
Despite this, a 20-year-old Egyptian woman was stabbed 17 times and died after reportedly turning down a marriage proposal earlier this month.
A fellow student is alleged to have killed her and has been charged with murder.
The alleged murder is remarkably similar to Ashraf's death, killed outside Mansoura University at the age of just 21.
Obsessed with Naira, Adel claimed she eventually resorted to threatening thugs on him if he did not leave her alone.
Her throat slit, Naira had little chance of survival even as angry witnesses seized Adel.
He said in his trial: "I had an exam and I missed the bus. So I had to take the next one, which moves at 10.30am.
"When I got on the bus, she was there. I carried a knife because I feared she would fulfil her threats of sending me thugs. I also wanted to kill her, if I had the chance."
His appeal is waiting for a decision after he was in court again on August 10.
