A nursery has had to shut its doors due to concerns about "safety and wellbeing of children", Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) has confirmed.
The Towers Day Nursery in Acrefair, Wrexham, was forced to close on Tuesday, March 15. According to the Daily Post, the cause behind the "enforced suspension" of the nursery has not yet been revealed, nor has the length, but it is understood that will depend on the outcome of enquiries. CIW however has said, however, they it is aware of how this "may be concerning for parents" who are urged to contact their Family Information Service should they need alternative childcare.
The CIW, which responds to concerns raised about social care and childcare services and carries out inspections, said further enquiries would be made following the decision.
A spokesperson for Care Inspectorate Wales said: "Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) enforced a suspension of this service from 6pm on 15 March. This is to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children and to allow for further enquiries to be made. CIW understand this may be concerning for parents but would like to assure families that we are working closely with the nursery, local authority and other partners. Those seeking alternative childcare should contact their local Family Information Service."
The Towers Day Nursery, which is registered for 23 children, declined to comment when contacted by North Wales Live.
