Nurse says random Babestation message on Instagram 'changed my life'

A woman who had been working as a palliative care assistant at the height of the Covid crisis has said an Instagram DM from an adult entertainment channel totally changed her life.

Megan Rox had been working in healthcare since the age of 19, but through the pandemic she really suffered with her mental health.

It's now been a year since Babestation contacted her on Instagram and she decided to make the switch, teasing callers on live TV, the Daily Star reports.

The dramatic career switch "shocked" her family but she has no regrets about agreeing to be an adult model.

Megan, 26, said: “It has literally been life-changing. It has changed my life for the better, I can’t deny that.

Asked what her job was like at the height of Covid-19, she gave a candid response.

“I don’t know how I got through it,” the Birmingham girl began. “It was very hard and I would get home, have a shower, curl into bed and I had to go to sleep straight away just to block it all out. It was an awful time.

“After a while I couldn’t take it any more. It was awful because visitors couldn’t come in and see their families and it was a palliative care unit so it was a very tough time.”

Reflecting on the career more generally, she said: “It was very, very intense and I worked there for five years.

“You see all sorts there and it is a bit of an eye opener to be honest and I was quite young when I started there.

“It really matured me in a way.

“I do miss a few of the residents I looked after. I was there almost every day and it was like a family so not going in there now is sad.”

But when Babestation suddenly came knocking, Megan was already on the hunt for a new job.

Her initial thoughts were ‘let’s give it a shot’ after reading the surprising job offer in her DMs.

But as for her family’s reaction, she said: “They were obviously a bit shocked because they thought I would stick to healthcare.

“My friends were a bit more like ‘go for it’ because they could see how drained I was during the pandemic and I needed a fresh start.”

And she said there were no comparisons between the two contrasting roles.

“It is literally the polar opposite to what I used to do,” she laughed. "I had to get used to working on a computer and being on TV.

“It was a crazy change but I got used to it in the end and I feel like I know what I’m doing now.”
