A father-of-three who was knocked unconscious after a car collision with Casualty star Amanda Mealing says he's lucky to be alive following the serious crash.

Mealing, known for playing Connie Beauchamp on TV, was high on cocaine when her vehicle drifted across the road and collided with an oncoming car last January.
