Number of spiking incidents skyrocketed in 2021, new figures show

New figures released by An Garda Siochana have shown a drastic spike in the number of spiking incidents last year.

The figures, brought to the Dail this week by Sinn Fein TD for Dublin Mid West Mark Ward, showed that in 2021 the number of reported spiking incidents increased from 62 to 106.

Speaking to Classic Hits, the TD said: "This 106 in 2022 are only the ones reporting it to the Gardai. How many incidents happen when the gardai aren't informed? It is quite concerning.
