A primary school teacher has been granted bail after allegedly being found with child abuse material on his electronic devices at an independent school.
Matthew David Eagleton, 54, was arrested on Friday and charged with two counts of possessing child abuse material after a police raid at Amity College's Auburn campus, in Sydney's west.
Detectives received a report of the unlawful and offensive sexual material on Thursday and conducted a search at the non-denominational school.
Officers seized Eagleton's electronic devices which allegedly contained the child abuse material.
Police also allegedly found a small amount of cannabis in his vehicle.
Eagleton appeared before court on Saturday, where he was granted bail.
Under the bail conditions, he is banned from entering any school or centre for children under 16 and is required to report daily to a police station in Sydney's inner-west
