NSW Police to destroy three tonnes of guns

More than three tonnes of guns will be destroyed after being seized by NSW Police or handed in. (AAP)

Three tonnes of firearms, including rifles, pistols and shotguns, will be destroyed in NSW this month after being seized by police in criminal investigations or handed in by the community.

The haul of 2809 firearms, weighing 3228kg, includes pistols, rifles, shotguns, military-style firearms, home-made firearms, gel blasters, air pistols and air rifles, NSW Police say.
