NSW Police Seek AVO Against 33 Y.O. After He Was Charged With Allegedly Harassing Delta Goodrem

Police are seeking an Apprehended Violence Order (AVO) against a man who has been charged with allegedly harassing Australian pop star Delta Goodrem.

According to The Daily Telegraph, 33-year-old Daniel Elias Tadros faced Bankstown Local Court on Wednesday after he was charged with using a carriage service to menace, harass or offend.

Per the publication, the man’s charges were due to an alleged online harassment hurled towards Goodrem while she was wrapping up her stint at the Eurovision song contest.

Goodrem had just finished her time at the competition, where she represented Australia and finished in fourth place with her song “Eclipse”.

Alongside the charges, NSW Police also applied for an AVO on the singer’s behalf against Tadros.

In 2020, James Joseph Lafferty was charged with stalking offences after he flooded Goodrem’s Instagram DMs with 300 messages, including “I honestly love you, Delta, your soulmate forever,” and “James loves Delta” in the lead-up to Valentine’s Day.

Lafferty also visited Goodrem’s apartment several times despite being moved on by the police and the concierge.

The father of three was ultimately handed an 18-month community corrections order and was also issued a $600 fine while being ordered to stay away from the singer’s home. However, he breached the AVO and was convicted of stalking Goodrem a second time in July 2021.

A second AVO was taken out by the police against Lafferty on the singer’s behalf in 2022.
