A man has been charged with attempted murder, accused of assaulting a woman in the NSW outback town of Broken Hill.
NSW Police say the 40-year-old woman was assaulted by a man known to her on Saturday night and was treated by paramedics who took her to Broken Hill Hospital.
She was later transferred to Royal Adelaide Hospital where she remains in a serious but stable condition with significant head injuries.
A 43-year-old man was arrested on Sunday and taken to Broken Hill Police Station, before being transferred to Broken Hill Base Hospital for treatment.
He was released from hospital on Tuesday and charged with nine offences including attempted murder (DV).
He was refused bail and will appear at the Dubbo Local Court on Wednesday.
