NSE enters India’s mega-IPO club: 2nd-largest issue, 2nd-highest anchor count with 189 investors

The National Stock Exchange of India’s (NSE) initial public offering (IPO) has entered the ranks of the largest IPOs in Indian history. The exchange ranks second in terms of issue size at Rs 22,561.57 crore, behind Hyundai Motor India, which raised Rs 27,858.75 crore from the markets last year.

The NSE IPO comprises entirely an offer for sale (OFS), with shares offered at Rs 1,785 apiece. The issue opened for public subscription on September 17, with listing expected the following week.

Notably, the exchange attracted 189 anchor investors and raised Rs 6,746.18 crore from institutional investors ahead of its public issue. NSE finalised the allocation to anchor investors on September 16, a day before the IPO opened for public subscription. The exchange allocated 3,77,93,739 equity shares at Rs 1,785 apiece, aggregating Rs 6,746.18 crore.

With 189 anchor investors, NSE ranks second in the historical comparison, behind Hyundai Motor India, which had 224 anchor investors. Zomato follows with 186 investors, while FSN E-Commerce Ventures and PB Fintech had 174 and 155, respectively.

NSE also ranks second by issue size in the comparison, with an offer size of Rs 22,561.57 crore, behind Hyundai Motor India’s Rs 27,858.75-crore IPO. Zomato’s issue size stood at Rs 9,375 crore, while FSN E-Commerce Ventures and PB Fintech raised Rs 5,349.72 crore and Rs 5,709.71 crore, respectively.
