NEW DELHI: The Delhi Police on Tuesday slapped National Security Act (NSA) on five accused involved in the Jahangirpuri violence, PTI quoted the official sources as saying.
Among those booked under the stringent law are Ansar — the alleged "main conspirator" behind the violence — and Sonu, who was seen in a video opening fire during the violence on Saturday, they said.

So far, the Delhi Police has arrested over 20 people in connection with the clashes.
Union home minister Amit Shah on Monday had directed the Delhi Police to take strict action against those involved in the Jahangirpuri violence.
Clashes broke out during a Hanuman Jayanti procession in the national capital's Jahangirpuri area on Saturday in which eight policemen and a civilian were injured.
The investigation into the clashes were handed over to the Crime Branch and 14 teams were formed for the same.
