Kacey Musgraves faced a conservative backlash over the weekend after the singer paused her Chicago concert to advocate for immigrant children. The Grammy winner used her 38th birthday show at the United Center to ask fans to donate to the Young Center for Immigrant Children's Rights.
The appeal came amid a sharp increase in US immigration enforcement. Federal sources told Fox News Digital that Immigration and Customs Enforcement made approximately 51,000 arrests in July, which the outlet reported was a monthly record, surpassing roughly 43,000 arrests in June.
