Novak Djokovic became the most successful Grand Slam competitor in men’s tennis after defeating Casper Ruud to win his 23rd title at the French Open.

With the win, Djokovic moves ahead of Rafael Nadal who has 22 titles to his name, while the retired Roger Federer ended his career with 20 titles.

Since claiming his first at the Australian Open in 2008, Djokovic has chasing down his Swiss and Spanish rivals in a race to become the most successful Grand Slam star in history.
