TRURO, N.S. — Police in Truro, N.S., have arrested a third man in connection with the killing last year of Prabhjot Singh Katri.
Truro police said in a Facebook post that a traffic stop in the city Wednesday led to the arrest of 22-year-old Marcus Michael Denny on a charge of being an accessory after the fact in the homicide of Singh Katri.
Police say Denny, who had been at large since October, also had multiple arrest warrants for violent offences in Pictou and Colchester counties, and he will remain in custody as they continue their investigation.
Police previously arrested two men in connection with the stabbing death of Singh Katri, who was found with serious injuries on Sept. 5 and later died in hospital.
Singh Katri came to Canada from India in 2017 to study and had been working as a cab driver and at a Tim Hortons restaurant before his death.
Cameron James Prosper, 20, of Pictou Landing First Nation is charged with second-degree murder and Dylan Robert MacDonald, 21, of Valley, N.S., is charged with being an accessory after the fact to murder, dangerous driving and fleeing police in a vehicle.
