Two goals in the last five minutes condemned Notts County to defeat as Chesterfield secured a 3-1 victory at the Technique Stadium.
Elisha Sam had put the Magpies ahead in the first half when he thrashed a superb strike beyond Scott Loach.
But Chesterfield hit back after the break with Lawrence Maguire heading in the equaliser after Notts failed to deal with a second phase from a corner.
Maguire then tapped the Spireites in front after Notts failed to deal with another corner before Awkwasi Asante made the game safe from the penalty spot after Richard Brindley fouled Liam Mandeville.
Here Leigh Curtis rates the players from the National League clash.
Vitezslav Jaros: Didn't have much to do in the opening 45 minutes and certainly didn't have a shot on target to face due to the quality of Notts' defending. Came into his own after the break but could do little with the goals. 6
Jayden Richardson: Possesses so many good qualities you need from a full-back. Packs pace, good feet and is a decent crosser of the ball. One of the better performers. 7
Richard Brindley: Defended with such composure in the first half, but Notts struggled to halt Chesterfield's momentum after the break. Conceded a penalty. 6
Kyle Cameron: The captain was superb in the opening 45 minutes as Chesterfield created very little, but that changed after the interval. 6
Adam Chicksen: Distribution was mixed epitomised when a pass to Eli Sam in the second half went out for a throw. An average performance. 6
Matt Palmer: Played a key role for the opening goal as his pass sent Eli Sam racing away to score the opener. Set-pieces were disappointing mind. 6
Frank Vincent: Took a booking early on but recovered well from that. Provided plenty of energy but quality on the ball just wasn't there. 5
Cal Roberts: Took a while for him to get into his stride in the first half and looked a threat when linking up with Jayden Richardson. 6
Ruben Rodrigues: Touch deserted him a couple of times and not helped by a terrible surface. Wasted a good chance in the second half. 6
Eli Sam: The turnaround in his career at Meadow Lane has been amazing. Is in unstoppable form at the minute and his goal was an absolute treat. 8
Kyle Wootton: Worked incredibly hard across the frontline, but tended to want to come short a lot in the second half. Was subbed. 6
