Luke Williams has explained that preparations for this weekend's FA Trophy fixture with Maidstone have been disrupted following another rescheduled match in their campaign.
The Magpies were due to play George Elokobi's side today (Saturday, January 14) but were forced to move their match at Meadow Lane to tomorrow (Sunday, January 15) as neighbours Nottingham Forest are taking on East Midlands rivals Leicester City at the City Ground on the same day.
In what has been a disruptive couple of months for Williams' side, they have seen several fixtures moved, resulting in not having played on a Saturday at 3pm in front of their home fans since their record-breaking fixture against Yeovil at the end of November.

The next time they will play in front of Meadow Lane on a Saturday does not come until the end of the month, as they welcome Halifax Town in the National League.
And the Notts boss was on hand to explain the difficulties the situation has provided in recent weeks but insisted that his side are not the only team affected by the rescheduled fixtures.
"Of course, we have a week of preparations and planning so we build up to the game, and we have had a lot of disruption that makes that process very difficult.
"We have to try to replicate the physical loading that the players will achieve in a game, but of course, it is never the same when you don't have that competition.
"Physiologically it is difficult when you prepare for a game for a week and then the game does not take place and it's rescheduled in a strange way because then the structure of your week is disrupted.
"We try to plan at least a month in advance for games and all these factors pose a challenge and make the rhythm of the week difficult.
"But a lot of the teams in the league have had rearranged games and we have to be able to adapt and overcome.
"Of course, we would much prefer to play more regularly at 3pm on a Saturday that would be fantastic."
