A Nottinghamshire village has been named one of Britain's 'poshest villages' according to an article research by property agents, Savills. In the 'best country life guide' listing published by the Telegraph, the publication listed Britain's top 54 'smartest rural locations', with Rushcliffe's Colston Bassett earning a place on the list. Food and the local pub were among the draws listed by those putting the listing.
The Telegraph pointed to the areas' award winning Martin's Arms pub, a local spa and "the king of blue cheese" as reasons for including the Nottinghamshire village on their list. Anna White, who wrote the article, said: "Colston Bassett Stilton – arguably the king of British blue cheese – hails from this village near the Vale of Belvoir.
"It is foodie country with the award-winning pub the Martin’s Arms in the village, a short drive to Perkins Bar & Bistro and England cricketer Stuart Broad’s pub Tap & Run. There’s even a local spa called The Little Day Retreat."

Turville in Buckinghamshire, which was the location for filming of Killing Eve and the Vicar of Dibley, and Uffington in Lincolnshire are among the locations also making the list.
Stuart Broad's Tap & Run pub was sadly seriously damaged by a fire back in June. However, work to rebuild the popular pub began on Thursday, June 30, following the devastating fire.
The listing also stated that the average house price in Colston Bassett is around £786,955.
