Nottinghamshire tip to shut while 'urgent works' take place

A Nottinghamshire tip will be closing for a full week so that 'essential maintenance' can be carried out at the site. Nottinghamshire County Council says that urgent drainage works are needed at the Mansfield Recycling Centre on Kestral Road.

The site is operated by Veoila on behalf of the county council, with 11 other sites available in the area. Residents in Mansfield are being advised that their nearest alternative sites will be Bilsthorpe, Warsop and Hucknall.

The closure will last from January 19 until the site reopens at 8am on January 28. Steve Newman, general manager for Veolia Nottinghamshire, said: "This essential maintenance is required to ensure the site remains compliant with environmental legislation.
