A Nottinghamshire restaurant with a difference has announced it will be closing its doors later this month. Dickies Farm Dining uses meat from the artisan butchery which opened seven years ago.
Then restaurant served fine dining style starters such as porchetta and scallop ceviche and miso-glazed mackerel but the star of the show is the 50-day aged steaks such as Belted Galloway sirloin and Aberdeen Angus rib steak, which diners say are "out of this world." Sunday roasts have also been one of the highlights.
However, it's coming to an end with the restaurant shutting after serving its final customers at Orchard Farm on Saturday August 6. The owners posted an explanation on their Facebook page. But it's not the end, as they teased that something "truly special" will take its place.

Describing itself as "independent, innovative and obsessive about food" Dickies, off Barkestone Lane, in Plungar, has been a dining experience like no other on a farm in the countryside, taking farm-to-fork to the next level as diners look over the produce they're eating from the market garden.
The announcement said: "Our drive and determination pushed us to be the best brunch cafe and then the best steak restaurant with a few little things in between. With this same drive and determination we have decided to close Dickies on an all time high. Our last service will be on Sat 6th August.
"We have had a crazy ride and have loved all the experiences and wonderful people we have met and served along the way. So as we close the door on Dickies please join us very soon in opening the door on something truly special. We are excited to reveal our new venture in the coming week. Peace out."
Diners are excited to see what the owners are planning although some are saddened that the existing restaurant is closing. One said: "Sad to see Dickies go. Remember the set menu music and BBQs in the very beginning. It has been so original along with fantastic food and service. Looking forward to seeing what your next venture brings to the Vale."
Another commented: "This makes me a little sad, but intrigued to see what you do next. Still miss your open air breakfasts!"
