A village pub has triumphed for the second year running after being honoured as the best in Nottinghamshire in a UK-wide competition. Once a rundown village local, The Radcliffe has become a destination for food and drink lovers since a £450,000 transformation nearly three years ago.
The Radcliffe, in Shelford Road, is amongst 94 pubs and bars across the country which have scooped a prestigious county winner title as part of the part of the 2022 National Pub & Bar Awards. Visitors, who don't mind travelling to the destination, have described the pub as stunning, faultless and friendly, with impressive food and real ales.
The pub is run by Mark Osborne and David Hage, who also operate The Railway in Lowdham and The Plough at Normanton-on-the Wolds. When they stepped in the pub, in Shelford Road, Radcliffe-on-Trent, had been closed for more than a year.
