Police officers are on the scene of an incident in Forest Fields where part of a busy road has been cordoned off. Part of Gladstone Street, near the Radford Road police station, was closed as of 8.45am on Wednesday (May 17).
It's not currently clear what has led to the closure, but Nottinghamshire Police are due to release more information shortly. The cordon lies near the Shipstone Street Play Area and the Muslim Foundation UK building.
Three police cars were spotted on the scene, some inside the cordon and one at the end of Gladstone Street where it meets Radford Road. Heavy congestion is being reported by Google further along Gladstone Street and on parts of Radford Road.
Reacting to the cordon, Shaun Bailey, 49, Forest Fields, said: "You see things like this everywhere but I feel safe here, this is the route I usually walking after dropping my girl off. I feel like this area gets a rough wrap.
"I've lived in all the 'rough' areas in Nottingham and I feel safer here, but I've never seen any evidence of any crime or anything until now."
A resident, who did not want to be named, said: "I am a bit worried about what this was, I have never seen this here. I don't know what it was I didn't hear anything."
