Nottinghamshire Police appeal as stolen bank card used to fund Nottingham night out

Police have issued an appeal after a stolen bank card was used to fund a night out in Nottingham. A handbag was stolen from a woman enjoying a night out in the Lace Market area.

It contained her purse, bank card, £40 in cash and her mobile phone. Shortly after it was stolen, the bank card was used to pay for entry into Popworld, as well as drinks inside the nightclub.

The stolen card was used three times in the space of just seven minutes, with the fraudulent transactions adding up to £54.60. Nottinghamshire Police today released an image of a woman they wish to trace as it is believed she may have information that could assist the investigation.

The force did not include the date of the incident in the information supplied to the media. PC Hannah Francis, who is leading the investigation, said: “We’re appealing for the public to help us with our investigation and help us identify this woman. This has been an ongoing investigation and we are now hoping that anyone who recognises the woman pictured will come forward.

“No-one deserves to have their personal items stolen from them and this incident completely ruined the victim’s own night out. If you do recognise this woman, please contact us on 101, quoting crime reference 23*230073, or make an anonymous call to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
