Nottinghamshire Police appeal after 'smash-and-grab' at Newark menswear store

Police have launched an appeal after a smash-and-grab burglary at a Nottinghamshire menswear store. It comes as the front door and a window were smashed at Wiseguys in Middlegate, Newark, and a number of clothes were stolen from the store at 3.15am on Wednesday (April 27).

Detectives are hunting two suspects in connection with the incident. Inspector Abigail Goucher, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “I’d like to reassure local businesses and members of the public that we are doing everything we possibly can to catch those responsible for this commercial burglary and bring them to justice.

"We are committed to reducing burglary and we continue to work very closely with partners and local businesses to drive down incidents of this type. The impact of burglary on local businesses can be severe and far-reaching which is why we treat all reports seriously and work tirelessly to seek justice for victims.
