Customers were forced to leave a Nottinghamshire leisure centre early due to a group "intimidating" staff and visitors. Police were called to Kirkby Leisure Centre, in Hodgkinson Road on Monday, May 22, with the facilities shutting at 6.30pm - an hour-and-a-half early.
Everyone Active, which runs the centre, said it was due to safety reasons. Contract manager Lorenzo Clark, said: “A small group of people visited the centre throughout the day who engaged in intimidating behaviour to colleagues and customers.
“The police were called, qualified security staff were utilised and casual admissions were refused. We also liaised with our partners at Ashfield District Council to ensure that safety was upheld."
