Nottinghamshire hitman sentenced to 30 years by Crown Court

A Nottinghamshire hitman has been jailed for 30 years. Darren Hattersley, 54, of Church Lane, Thrumpton, was hired by revenge-obsessed Vito Dimarco to kill a man outside his home on Grove Lane, Wishaw, near Sutton Coldfield.

Dimarco was given a suspended sentence for maliciously wounding his victim just weeks before he hired Hattersley to kill the man with the promise of financial gain for doing so. Hattersley reportedly roped Nathan Odley, 42, of Osmaston Road, Derby, into the plan and on Sunday, September 5, 2021, the pair were involved in the shooting of the victim on his driveway, badly injuring his leg and arm.

In a bid to distance himself from the crime, Dimarco spent the day with his family and made sure he was seen on CCTV, reports Birmingham Live. All three men were previously convicted of conspiracy to commit murder at Warwick Crown Court, but on Thursday, January 12, they were each sentenced.
