Firefighters were called to reports of a fire at Slim Chickens restaurant in the city centre. Two fire engines arrived at the scene just before 5pm on Wednesday (June 1).
The crew arrived after reports of a small fire at the property located on Long Row. A spokesperson for the service said the blaze was out on arrival. The shop is still closed and may not open again until Thursday June 2.
The engines were spotted at the scene just outside the property in the city centre. An eyewitness said the engines were still at the scene shortly after 5pm.

A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue team said: "We were called to reports of a fire at a commercial property on Long Row in Nottingham. It was a small fire and it was out on arrival.
"The response started at 4.51pm. There were two fire engines at the scene."
