A Nottinghamshire teenager was arrested by police on his fifteenth birthday after smoking cannabis before setting off to celebrate in Skegness. The boy was pulled over in Annesley Woodhouse on June 19 last year and provided a positive drug wipe.
It was also found that he did not have a licence or insurance and was subsequently arrested. Police constable Phil Broughton said the boy was on his way to celebrate his birthday in Skegness.
“Unfortunately for him custody don’t do parties and it was certainly a birthday that will last long in his memory – for all the wrong reasons," he said. “After I stopped the car, with the help of other officers, I noticed there was a strong smell of cannabis within the vehicle. The driver provided a saliva sample which returned a positive result for cannabis and he was arrested."
