An Aldi supermarket in Notts is set to close later this month for a refurbishment. The store, in Mansfield Road, Daybrook won't be closed for long though.
The revamp will be carried out in just four days. The shop will close on Saturday March 18 at 8pm and reopen on Thursday, March 23, at 8am.
The supermarket chain said it would return with a "refreshed layout", including more space for fresh, chilled and food-to-go ranges. “In order to provide an improved shopping experience for Daybrook customers, the Aldi store on Mansfield Road will close at 8pm on 18th March to undergo refurbishment works," said a spokesperson.
"The store will reopen to customers at 8am on 23rd March with a refreshed layout, which includes more space for our fresh, chilled and food-to-go ranges.” One customer said: "I hope you're getting self service tills." Another said: "About time too! It feels so old in comparison to the others in the area now."
While closed shoppers are advised they can shop at other Aldi stores in Mapperley, Basford and Top Valley. Aldi, now the UK's fourth biggest supermarket, recently announced its biggest ever apprenticeship recruitment drive.
The company is looking to take on 500 apprentices with opportunities in stores, logistics, buying and as well as for HGV drivers.
