No train services will be running to or from Skegness from Nottingham due to strike action. On Thursday, August 18 and Saturday, August 20, East Midlands Railway will have no trains operating to or from Skegness due to a strike by the members of the RMT and TSSA unions.
Members will be striking on these days and so East Midlands Railway will be operating significantly reduces services on both strike days, and asking customers to only travel by rail if necessary. If you do travel on these days, you are asked to plan ahead and leave extra time for disruption and short notice changes.
East Midlands Railway's connect services between Nottingham and Sheffield and Nottingham and Leicester will also not be able to run. There will be one train per hour between Derby and Nottingham, and one train per hour between Leicester and Nottingham, which is a stopping service.

Network Rail colleagues are also affected by the strike action and so their ability to operate infrastructure has also been reduced. This includes both maintenance staff as well as staff working in control and signalling roles.
Network Rail will continue to operate their larger control centres with reduced staff numbers, including the East Midlands Control Centre in Derby. However, it is unable to operate smaller sites and signal boxes which control smaller lines of route.
Passengers who have already purchased tickets are able to have a fee-free refund if their train is cancelled, delayed or rescheduled after booking. For those wishing to still travel, seat reservations have been suspended on all routes.
