The owner of a takeaway that received a food hygiene rating of 0 says changes have been made to the restaurant following an inspection. The owner of D2 Fast Food in Ilkeston Road, Nottingham city centre, is confident of a higher rating next time the venue is inspected.
Three areas are inspected by a food safety officer. These are management of food safety, which in this case was rated 'urgent improvement necessary', cleanliness and condition of facilities and building, which was rated 'improvement necessary', and hygienic food handling, which was rated 'generally satisfactory'.
The inspection took place on April 20, with the findings recently published. The owner of D2 Fast Food is hopeful of a revisit again soon and that the rating will be higher.

According to reports, takeaways and restaurants must have a minimum food hygiene rating of two to trade through Uber Eats, and three to trade through Just Eat. If they do not meet this criteria, they are dropped from the platforms.
Muhammad Awan, owner, said: "The inspector came during Ramadan, and it was a case of bad timing. We didn't have the energy to do all of what we should have, we were trying to do our best.
"Everything was about cleaning issues, and we had some broken tiles in the shop as well and a couple of other minor things. It was nothing to do with the food itself, the food is perfectly fine, there were no problems with that.
"I feel as though things have been much more strict. They want to be on top of everything, and it's a good thing that these kind of things are pointed out.
"We can't trade on Uber Eats or Just Eat at the moment because of the rating. But we will be back on both of those in no time.
"We've appealed for a revisit as we've done the things they have asked us to do, I hope they come back as soon as possible. We'll definitely get at least four stars next time, I don't think you can jump from zero to five straight away without another following inspection."
